PEACE, RIGHTS, RELIGIONS AND DIALOGUEAbstract
The Jubilee Year 2025, proclaimed by Pope Francis, has been strongly focused on world peace, particularly in the current context of international conflicts. The central theme was “hope,” understood as a means of overcoming divisions and promoting reconciliation and peace. The beginning of Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate, which took place in May 2025, gave the Jubilee of Hope a new face, one that is
at the same time deeply rooted in ecclesial continuity. On the occasion of the Jubilee for Justice Officials on Saturday, September 20, the Pope called for a justice system that does not merely enforce the law, but also promotes dignity, true equality, reconciliation, and peace. This volume contains the papers presented at the international workshop “BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS,” held at the Pontifical Romanian College in Rome on September 23. Through the presentations by the authors and speakers participating in the event, there was an increase in awareness of the values of solidarity and respect for human rights, using personal testimonies as a tool to raise awareness, to speak out against violence and war, and to highlight the importance of concrete actions for building peace. The event was held under the patronage of the Romanian Embassy to the Holy See and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
